Prince Harry’s US Tour: There’s No Place Like Jersey

It’s almost that time – Prince Harry and a slew of royal reporters from across the pond will be arriving at the Jersey Shore in just under two weeks (cue jumping up and down and clapping). Although the prince and his posse will only be here for a short time, I feel it is my duty and as a royal watching, Jersey Shore native to prepare you all accordingly.

So, what can be expected when you all arrive in Jersey on May 14th?

If you fly into Newark airport, at first you might be all, um.. where am I? Why are we visiting this smoke infested state?

Don’t worry, they just chose to put the airport in the one teeny, tiny area that is used for industrial ugliness.

Then, you will look to your left, see something like this and quickly change your tune..

You will head down the Garden State Parkway..

You will arrive at the Sandy-ravaged shore and your heart will break a little..

Finally, Governor Christie will make an appearance and you will most likely get a colorful comment of sorts..

After all that time outside, breathing in the fresh ocean air, you might be getting a bit hungry..

Pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll - does not get more Jersey than this

Contrary to popular belief, you will not see any of this because surprise! These clowns are not even from New Jersey..

So put Bruce Springsteen on repeat, throw your preconceived notions to the wind and be prepared for a morning in a beautiful place. Oh, and you will also see this girl..

Get used to seeing her around, word on the beach is that Prince Harry will be falling in love with her and whisking her back to England.

Happy Royalversary!

Happy Second Anniversary William and Catherine!????????

Now, hit play and let’s celebrate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

Last year I asked my Twitter followers to share their wishes for William & Kate’s second year of marriage; not surprisingly, most of those tweets involved a royal scone in the oven.  At the end of the year, our wish for them came true! Side note: completely forgot I dubbed the future royal baby a “scone,” so from now on that’s what I’m going with.

I also encouraged my readers to share the traditional first anniversary gift of paper with the royal couple and since money is the most important form of paper (kidding..kind of), I challenged everyone to donate to the couple’s patronages.

Sadly, the year of money is over, but if you would like to continue dishing out dough, head on over to the newly launched Royal Fundraiser to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in honor of the royal scone in the oven. @RoyalFundraiser was started by @WhatKateWore, @HRHDuchessKate, @BritishRoyals, @KatePippaStyle and @APP_Editor to gather the royal watching community to help out one of Kate’s patronages. In fact, the mum-to-be will celebrate her wedding anniversary by visiting Naomi House in support of Children’s Hospice Week.

A continued lifetime of happiness to one of the world’s most adorable couples!

Prince Harry’s US Tour: Where Do I Buy a Fascinator at the Jersey Shore?

Three weeks from today Prince Harry will be back home in the UK after a fabulous week in the United States, gushing to his army buddies about the lovely brunette from New Jersey that completely changed his typical fancy for blondes.

I announced a few weeks ago that not only would @HWalesWatch and I would be jetting off to Colorado to greet the dashing royal, but that I would be partnering with the incomparable Kelly Lynch to cover the tour for Socialite Life and Celebuzz. Now, the white pants dream is becoming a reality.

YES! I will now also be on-hand for the New Jersey (yay!), New York and Connecticut visits as well! More details to come as the time approaches, but I am over the moon to have the opportunity to see my favorite royal in my neighborhood.

I cannot wait to share this experience of a lifetime with you all… you better believe I’m going to have some fun with this one!

Now, off to go shopping..

Happy Anniversary to Prince Charles & The Duchess of Cornwall!

Today marks Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwalls eight year of wedded bliss! The Prince of Wales married then Camilla Parker Bowles on April 9, 2005. From a civil ceremony to a celebration at Windsor Castle it was a beautiful spring day for the royal family.

Here’s hoping their day is filled with gifts of bronze, pottery, linen, lace and appliances – appropriate eighth wedding anniversary gifts. Perhaps a bronzed toaster oven with lace lace applique oven mits?

Happy Anniversary and a lifetime of happiness to the future king and his bride!

Sophie Gets Fashion Forward

If you follow me on Twitter, you are well aware that I am a major fan of The Countess of Wessex. Sophie is elegant, beautiful and in my opinion, does not get nearly enough credit. It also doesn’t hurt that she is a former public relations pro,  – us publicists have to stick together.

Altough a patronage announcement from The Countess of Wessex may not be considered breaking regal news, I’m taking advantage of any tidbit on her so I can finally dedicate a post to her. Yesterday, it was revealed that the the fashion forward wife of Prince Edward would become patron of the London College of Fashion. What is the big news surrounding the announcement? This is the first patronage for the LCF. Over the next three years, Sophie will work hand-in-hand with the school to promote its ‘Better Lives’ campaign, awarding scholarships, working female prisoners to get their fashion on and participating in projects with schoolchildren.

This patronage is a right royal fit for The Countess of Wessex – lots of little Sophie-inspired schoolchildren running around will not be a bad thing! Hopefully this news marks the first of many stories to come on the fabulous Sophie.

Throwback Thursday: Get Your Irish On

In honor of my favorite holiday just days away (but let’s be honest, I celebrate all month long), I’m throwing it back to June 2011 when The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the 1st Battalion Irish Guards Regimen for Armed Forces Day. Yes, I realize this is a stretch for St. Patrick’s Day..but Kate’s outfit that day was one of my favorites of all time.

Not only is the perfectly appropriate Alexander McQueen military style coat one of my top wardrobe choices ever, the Rachel Trevor-Morgan is also one of my favorite fascinators she has worn. I can’t wait until the late Queen Mother’s shamrock brooch is passed to me when I marry Prince Harry. Maybe I can borrow it in advance? Would look great with my outfit for the office party tomorrow.

Oh yea, and Prince William looks dashing as well. Outfits aside, this was a special day for the newlyweds as it marked William’s first event as Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards and the couple’s first joint military engagement.

Slainte!

Throwback Thursday: Can’t Get Enough of Harry the Humanitarian

There are many sides to Prince Harry and Harry-plays-with-kids-in-Africa is definitely one of my favorites. We all know what happened yesterday, the day we learned that the dashing prince can rock a purple apron better than anyone, but the charitable royal has been doing good in Africa for years.

In an effort to test your ability to handle high swoon levels two days in a row, let’s throw it back to 2005, the year this amazing photo was taken..

Prince Harry Returns to Lesotho With The Red Cross

I have no idea what is happening here and I do not even care – if this photo can’t make you smile, well then that makes me sad. What I do know is this was taken during one of his follow-up trips to the landlocked nation of Lesotho after his gap year to see first-hand the progress that was made with the British Red Cross Lesotho Fund.

Can Every Day be “Prince Harry on a Charitable Mission” Day?

Someone pass me the defibrillator, this day is giving me a heart attack. Prince Harry was in Lesotho today to carry out work on behalf of his charity, Sentebale. Harry has always said that he feels he can truly be himself in Africa, and we definitely saw that today – my swoon levels when the photos came out were through the roof.

Harry completely let loose with the children of Lesotho as he participated in a sign language lesson, strapped on a Paddington Bear apron to cook in the kitchen, take in a soccer match and dance. Oh, the dancing.. I’m beginning to think the real purpose of these trips abroad is to compile the world’s greatest ‘Dancing with the Star’s audition tape. But WHERE are the blue suede shoes?

A man who can cook, dance and is good with kids.. well done, Cressida Bonas.

Oh and if that weren’t enough, he then hopped a train to Johannesburg, South Africa to speak at a fundraising gala for Sentebale. Yes, this means he was in a tux.

At the gala Prince Harry spoke of his mother, Princess Diana, and his hope that she would be proud of him and the work he is doing for HIV/Aids in Africa. Harry has had a lot to worry about in his life – the paparazzi, the Taliban..his mother being proud of him will never be one of them.

So many thanks to @HWalesWatch for being so on top of things as always and of course, @RE_DailyMail, @ChrisJack_Getty, @RoyalReporter and all of the top royal reporters sending us updates from Africa.

Throwback Thursday: Lazy Edition

This week I am throwing it way back, all the way to…Tuesday. I know, it’s a cop out – but I was busy when Kate and the royal biscuit made their appearance for Action on Addiciton..and how am I just never going to blog about the bump debut? Unacceptable.

As always, Kate was looking stunning. This is news to no one. I don’t know if it was the “pregnancy glow” (whatever that means), or her Mustique tan but the duchess was radiant. Someone please show this blog to my future husband and make him take me to Mustique when I’m with child. And by future husband, I of course mean Prince Harry..duh.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended an official engagement as a patron of Action on Addiction at London’s Hope House, a center in Clapham for women recovering from addicition. Kate wore a grey MaxMara wrap dress from 2011, covering her growing belly rather well.

There is no doubt that Kate will be a fabulous mum – perhaps she is asking these two tots if they would like to babysit in a few years?

Dressing Kate: NYFW 2013

New York Fashion Week 2013 has come and gone and with that comes about a thousand looks that The Duchess of Cambridge could walk off the runway in. We all know Kate looks great in just about everything she puts on; I say “just” because who can forget the blue Erdem dress from Trooping The Colour last year? Believe me, I’m trying to. However, dressing a pregnant Kate is quite different from dressing an incredibly fit Kate.

I’ve picked out looks from the newly debuted fall collections that would look stunning on the fashionable duchess and the baking royal biscuit. (Trying to avoid the term “baby bump” as much as possible to spare @Heather84A a heart attack). I know she will no longer be pregnant come the fall, but let’s be honest – I would be here all day selecting pieces she would look stunning in on a regular basis. The entire Badgley Mischka, J Mendel Monique Lhuillier and Naeem Kahn collections come to mind..

Another absolutely perfect Monique Lhuillier gown

naeem-khan37

Again, a bit of a risk for her but you cannot go wrong in Vera Wang! This would be lovely for a royal engagement late in the pregnancy.

zac-posen04

This Zac Posen jacket looks a lot like something we would normally see Kate in. Get in the royal closet, please!

Which of these looks would you like to see Kate in? Who is your favorite designer for the pregnant duchess? Leave some comments!
